Pat Whitaker and his son Jake did what can only be described as an outstanding restoration job some pieces of my furniture. A warped and very worn large round table returned in perfect condition. Two old and rather beat up Parker Knoll chairs were restored and upholstered to look as though they had just emerged from the mid-century High Wycombe factory, and an old Rimu bookcase is now in mint condition. The craftsmanship of these two is of a rare high quality. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

I would like to compliment Pat Whitaker for his incredible skill, workmanship and attention to detail when restoring my dining room furniture and restoring and re upholstering my lounge suite.
The rimu dining and coffee tables look fantastic and with the matte finish recommended by Pat, now look better than the day I purchased them.
The lounge suite has been transformed from a total disaster to an amazing piece of furniture, which not only looks great but with new foam squabs is so comfortable as well. Nothing was too much trouble for Pat and he is only too happy to provide a heap of fabric samples for me to choose from.
Pat's friendly disposition has made doing business with A1 Furniture a real pleasure.

Pat & Jake you are legends! I gave you an unloved Scotch chest that had belonged to my great -grandparents and had lived in a shed for the last 55 years, with the brief of giving it a second chance. You brought it back to life in a way that respectfully revealed the beauty of the wood, as well as the shape and form, beyond what I thought possible. Due to a recent apartment fire, my treasured antique mahogany display cabinet suffered major exterior blistering and smoke damage. A1 were assigned the restoration task by the insurance company. The transformation of this beautiful piece, back to its former glory, is completely astonishing. The top of my beautiful Rose and Heather Kauri Sideboard was damaged in transit, with the front edge gouged and chipped along a length of 20cm. Two repairers said it couldn't be restored.
Patrick used his exceptional skills to return the sideboard to "as new" condition, completing the work with hand - polishing so the repaired surfaces perfectly matched the rest of the unit.
The sideboard looks magnificent - and I've since asked Patrick to restore three other pieces of furniture.
Patrick's craftsmanship is also matched by outstanding customer service. He is highly recommended for restoration and re polishing work.
