It was then stained in a rich black satin and finished with a matte, hard-wearing clear coat. The chairs were preserved with their original wooden seats and backs, which beautifully contrasted with the industrial metal frames, creating a balanced mix of warmth and contemporary style.

This TV cabinet was part of a matching furniture set the client loved, but the upper section no longer suited their television. Rather than replacing the piece and losing the continuity with the rest of their furniture, they asked if it could be modified into a smaller, more practical cabinet.
We carefully cut down the upper section, reshaping the piece to better fit the TV while maintaining the proportions of the original design. The newly exposed sides and top were sanded smooth, then restained and polished so the modified areas blended seamlessly with the rest of the cabinet.
We were also able to reuse the original top, which helped preserve the character of the piece. As it had a few marks from the alteration process, we carefully touched it up to restore its finish.
The result was a customised cabinet that fits the space perfectly while still matching the rest of the furniture — a practical solution that kept a much-loved piece in the home. The client was delighted with the outcome.
